DRAGON BOAT VISITS CASTOR LODGE

Writer: ESP OnlineESP Online

Row, row, row your boat… Residents and visitors at Castor Lodge Care Home had the chance to try out a dragon boat for size at a special coffee morning this week.

Castor Lodge Care Home, in Peterborough, is this year’s sponsor of the Peterborough Dragon Boat Festival, an annual fundraising event held in aid of Sue Ryder and organised by New Wave Events.

As part of the festival build-up, a full-sized dragon boat was installed inside for everyone to see the boat up close, meet the team, and find out more about the festival.

Morgan Hicks, Senior Customer Relations Manager at Castor Lodge, said – “It’s a great opportunity for our residents and the wider community to get involved ahead of the festival itself, and we’re proud to support such an important charity."

The Peterborough Dragon Boat Festival, which takes place on Saturday June 21 at the Rowing Lake is a long-standing event in the local calendar, bringing together teams from across the region to race on the water while raising vital funds for Sue Ryder.

ESP is proud to be the Media Partner for this fantastic event which is a big fundraiser to support the vital work of Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice in Peterborough.

You don’t need any experience to take part, it’s great fun and a wonderful team building day so to enter your company or club call festival organisers NewWave Events on 01536 674748 or visit www.dragonboatevents.co.uk/peterborough-dragon-boat-festival/ to enter online.
