It’s time for some feline fun with Dick Whittington at the Key Theatre in Peterborough... Oh yes it is!
Get ready to boo and hiss at Queen Rat and cheer on Dick Whittington and his cat in this year’s fabulous panto running from November 25 through to January 8, 2023.
Peterborough’s longest-running panto sees Simon Aylin back by popular demand as Dick, David Griffin-Stephens provides the laughs as Dame Fanny Fitzbottom and there’s great original music by Simon Hanson.
This family panto follows our hero seek his fame, fortune and happiness in London Town. With help from the magical Fairy Bowbells and his trusted feline friend, can they stop the wicked Queen Rat from stealing all the sweets and taking over London? Oh yes they can…
From queen of the London cabaret scene, having won London pride Cabaret Act 2022, to queen of vermin, Alexa Vox plays the villain we all love to hate, the evil Queen Rat.
From baddie to goodie, foiling her plans will be Lucy-Jane Quinlan as Fairy Bowbells. No stranger to pantomime, Lucy-Jane's been nominated for a prestigious Great British Pantomime Award for best principal female for her role in Cinderella at the Lighthouse in Poole.
And certainly no stranger to the Key stage following a show-stealing performance as Dandini in Cinderella last year, Simon Rhys Jones returns in the roles of Captain and King of the Disco. The cast is completed by Abigail Matthews as Alice Fitzwarren.
Ask anyone in Peterborough and they will most likely have seen a panto at the city’s beloved Key Theatre so we’re delighted to see the fun return this Christmas - look out for our ESP review.
This intimate auditorium with a perfect view in every seat is a great way to introduce the little ones to live theatre and they always get really involved in the performance… and so do the grown ups from what we’ve seen!
Dick Whittington is the purrfect pantomime adventure and as always with a Key Theatre pantomime, expect some wonderful original music, local fun in the script, plenty of comedy, magic and panto mayhem.
