On Monday April 22 established comedy magician Pete Firman, described by The Telegraph as the ‘poster boy for British comedy magic’, comes to the Key Theatre.
As a magician he developed his skills at an early age, joining his local Circle of Magicians in Middlesbrough at the age of 13 and since then has spent his life travelling the world and exhibiting his impressive magical abilities. Television appearances include Dirty Tricks in 2005, Monkey Magic in 2003 (which was nominated for a British Comedy Award) and Derren Brown’s 3D Magic Spectacular in 2009.
Most recently Firman was a permanent act on the award-winning second series of The Magicians, the first live magic programme to be broadcast on the BBC in more than 30 years. With audiences watching in their millions and with the help of celebrities such as Arlene Phillips and Keith Duffy, Firman showcased some of his extraordinary talents; including swallowing fire, shattering a glass jug with his mind, and making a maggot appear from his eye socket.
