For the second year running we will see a Peterborough candidate line up in Alan Sugar’s boardroom as a new series of The Apprentice returns to our screens on Wednesday October 14.
The eleventh series will see 25 year-old Joseph Valente from the city bid for business success.
The local businessman will be put through his paces by Lord Sugar and his advisors Baroness Karren Brady and new aide Claude Littner.
Joseph follows in the footsteps of Nurun Ahmed from Peterborough who took part in the series last year, to compete to become Lord Sugar’s new business partner and win a £250k investment. Local entrepreneur Nurun was sadly given the “You’re fired!” ultimatum on week three of the show but has gone on to work as an independent consultant and is also launching a premium matrimonial site for the elite and professionals, Xclusivley Tumi with her business partner Nadia Ali, BBC Asian network presenter, and is also helping with the launch of UK based Muslim airlines, Firnas Airways.
Nurun told ESP she is really pleased to see Joseph make it on to The Apprentice and believes he could even go on to win it! “He certainly possess the charismatic character required for the show. I met him beforehand and saw that spark in him. He’s very driven, he’s young, dynamic and jovial. I will certainly root for him and think he could do very well, even to go all the way.”
The series is back with a bang as viewers will be treated to a double helping of boardroom drama in the first week, with the second episode airing the following evening on Thursday October 15. The series then continues weekly on BBC One every Wednesday at 9pm.
This year, there are 18 potential business partners for Lord Sugar to choose from. The nine men and nine women come from a range of careers and backgrounds.
Local guy Joseph Valente, a former Stanground College student, describes himself as successful, passionate and driven. He says he applied for the show because he feels it is his destiny to be Lord Sugar’s business partner. He currently runs his own plumbing company Impra-Gas and feels having a business is like being a parent, as it needs undivided attention and nurturing, and that Hugh Hefner is one of his role models.
He says: “I am the definition of success, I’m a godfather of business and I’m here to make Lord Sugar a lot of money.”
