Peterborough Royal Marine, Cassidy Little, wowed the judges in The People’s Strictly and scored four tens for his powerful Paso Doble!
Lance Corporal Cassidy Little, who was injured during a tour in Afghanistan in 2011, was nominated to take part in the BBC special which is fundraising for Comic Relief, and proved he’s also a hero on the dancefloor.
He’s one of six people chosen for their tireless and selfless work which has helped change lives for the better. The former Royal Marine medic lost his right leg below the knee in an explosion but at the time of the incident, despite his own horrific injuries, Cassidy selflessly attempted to tend to his colleagues on the ground after the attack. He went on to help many make it through the rigours of rehab.
We love Strictly at ESP and to have another local guy perform on that famous ballroom floor has been amazing.
Partnered with professional dancer Natalie Lowe he put in a truly impressive performance which had the judges singing his praises with Darcey gushing that she couldn’t take her eyes of him, and even Natalie tweeting afterwards – ‘So proud of our final moment together – you are an incredible human being. What you have achieved is absolutely incredible’.
Cassidy’s seen his supporters in the city backing him in their droves. Now it’s fingers crossed they’ve placed their votes and in the Comic Relief show on Friday March 13 we’ll find out if we’ll have another Peterborough king of the dancefloor!
Peterborough Olympian and former Strictly winner Louis Smith took the celebrity title back in 2012 and went on to win the Christmas special in 2014 and now he’s also played a part in the first ever People’s Strictly, mentoring one of the other contestants.
Clearly our gymnast isn’t keen to pack away his dancing shoes just yet and it’s been great to see him back on the show… but we reckon Cassidy has given him a run for his money!
Time for a future dance-off guys??!!
