Another local contestant is bidding to make an impression on Alan Sugar as the latest series of The Apprentice airs on BBC One.
Bourne based mum and entrepreneur Khadija Kalifa will be wheeling her suitcase and dressing to impress as one of sixteen budding entrepreneurs put through their paces by business heavyweight Lord Sugar as the search for his next business partner begins.
The 28 year old local mum who owns Opal and Pearl cleaning company is following in the footsteps of other Peterborough contestants Nurun Ahmed and famously Joseph Valente, the ImpraGas entrepreneur who went on to win the show.
Having run her own eco-friendly cleaning business for the past three years, Khadija considers her people skills to be her best business asset. She says her friends would describe her as being quick-witted, motivational and genuinely wanting to help others but she can have a bit of a ‘hot head’.
Khadija looks up to Richard Branson in business for ‘his success and willingness to assist others’ and plans to be likeable but focused, though says she can be cut-throat when required.
She says: “Whatever I say I’m going to make happen happens. I’m a serious Mumpreneur who doesn’t have time for timewasters and idiocy.”
Khadija will be put through her paces on the show to prove her business acumen. Baroness Brady and Claude Littner resume duties as Lord Sugar’s trusted advisors and his ‘eyes and ears’ on the tasks, reporting back on the candidates’ every decision in the boardroom.
Let’s hope Khadija has what it takes as she hopes to secure a £250,000 investment in her business plan and win a partnership with Lord Sugar.
The Apprentice will air weekly on Wednesdays at 9pm on BBC One, from Wednesday October 3, followed by You’re Fired at 10pm on BBC Two. Watch live and on-demand on BBC iPlayer.
