BIJOU BAR OPENING

It’s all change at city bar and restaurant Bijou as the Bridge Street venue is ready to reopen under brand new ownership with new management and a great new look and offering.

The big public launch is on Saturday May 3 when customers will get the chance to meet the team and check out the changes, plus there’s music from Toxic Blondes at 7.30pm.

Bijou has had an amazing make-over from top to bottom with artworks by Street Arts Hire throughout the building – so phones at the ready for those selfies. There’s all new furniture, new glassware and crockery, air con in the basement bar and even the loos have a wonderful new look!

The venue will now be open all day and is stocking premium drinks, quality cocktails and mocktails. Food wise there is homemade pizza and a new Tapas range, plus as part of the new opening hours you can also pop in for breakfast and brunch.

Being part of the Peterborough community is a priority and they aim to be a home fan venue for Posh fans with drink discounts on match days, they will offer after party fun for this year’s Peterborough Pride event and work closely with other groups who’d like to use the venue.

New General Manager Alex Summerford has a strong background in hospitality and told ESP – “We want to make Bijou the venue for everyone, offering better quality all round and being open all day to serve a range of customers. We want a neighbourhood feel where it’s the friendly place you head to whether its breakfast, lunch with friend, a corporate meeting or an evening out. We welcome all communities at Bijou and want to become a hub for local events.”

The bar staff are trained mixologists so you should expect some amazing cocktails and there are trained baristas to serve up the perfect coffees. They’re using local suppliers as much as possible.

The popular Bottomless Brunch has been kept on but is new and improved, introducing new cocktails and using premium spirits.

The music and entertainment line-up includes DJ Joey, a familiar face at city venues, as well as regular live music.

Bijou will be offering themed brunch events kicking off with Sip and Paint on May 25, and invite other groups to get in touch if they’d like to hold any events. There’s meeting space upstairs and the basement is great for private hire on an hourly rate if you need to throw a party.
