Staff at the BHS store in Queensgate Shopping Centre joined the nation on Friday February 6 to ‘Wear it, Beat it’; a campaign by the British Heart Foundation to raise money and awareness of heart and circulatory disease.
Led by the store manager, Martin Savage, the team of workers all wore red and ran a raffle throughout the day and into the weekend to raise money for the charity. Martin said: “There was a great team spirit amongst us, everyone chipped in selflessly and there was wonderful generosity from our customers. I would like to thank everyone for their support for such a worthy charity.”
According to the British Heart Foundation, one in four of our loved ones are lost to heart and circulatory disease. Each year the charity invites the public to hold events on the first Friday in February to help fund their life-saving research.
BHS expected to raise over £200.
