KNOBWORTH FESTIVAL @ YARWELL

On Saturday May 31 and Sunday June 1 the beer garden at the Angel Inn Yarwell will play host to the 3rd annual Knobworth Festival

This great music, real ale and cider festival was devised to raise awareness of testicular and prostate cancer – the latter of which has now overtaken lung cancer to become the most common cancer in men.

Playing on the name of the famous Knebworth Festival, Knobworth is a fun play on words and a light-heated reference to the charity’s cause.

Nick and Diane Lander, who’ve owned and run the Angel Inn for the last ten years, hope that the intended pun attracts attention for this serious and worthy cause and are pleased that Prostate Cancer UK are in support of the event. The pub’s also hoping to get a local GP to be in attendance at the event to offer advice on the subject.

The weekend will see an abundance of real ales and ciders, some great live music over the two days and will be MC’ed by Peterborough FM’s Rurality Show DJ Jim Boulton.

It’s always a good one and we can’t wait. This year’s live line up includes Fat Weasel, Beachy Head Diving Club, The Elements, Switch Blade, All Whales Go to Heaven, The Malingerers (pictured above), Ignition and Sellout.

There will also be an open mic session each afternoon to 3.30pm if any musicians want to entertain  the crowds.

Entrance is free… charity donations appreciated.
