TROLLING DAVID BADDIEL AT THE CRESSET IN PETERBOROUGH

The Cresset has a great reputation for bringing some of the best comedy performers to Peterborough and in April it’s none other than David Baddiel serving up some more top comedy.

It’s great to see the comedy star bringing his follow up to his acclaimed shows Fame: Not The Musical, and My Family: Not The Sitcom to the city and you can see his new Trolls: Not The Dolls show here on Wednesday April 29.

Following his five-star Olivier-nominated hit My Family: Not The Sitcom and the return to number 1 of his seminal football anthem Three Lions, David Baddiel is coming back to the stage with a brand new one-man show, Trolls: Not The Dolls.

The critics have been falling over themselves to give this show five star reviews with the likes of the Evening Standard saying it – ‘Boasts side-splitting laughs and also moves people to tears’ and The Times summing it up as – ‘Hugely funny’.

Trolls are the terrible people who spend all day insulting and abusing strangers for no good reason and the usual advice is not to encourage them by replying to them. But that’s not this comedian’s philosophy – in fact quite the opposite!

David has always seen trolls as hecklers, and if a comedian gets heckled, it is their duty not to ignore the heckler, but to wittily put them down. Over the years, David has spent a lot of time doing this, which has led him to think that there might be a show in it: a show that would say something about how we live now.

David has stories to tell, of the dark, terrible and hysterically absurd cyber-paths that interacting with trolls has led him down. So why not join him on this comedy journey into our culture’s most dank virtual underground. You will come back safe, more able to deflect your own trolls, and only a little bit soiled!

Tickets are selling fast so book now for his show at the Cresset in Bretton on 01733 265705 or visit www.cresset.co.uk
