This year’s Firework Fiesta event at Peterborough Arena has been hailed a huge success attracting record numbers.
The impressive professional display by Titanium fireworks is organised by the Rotary Club Rotary Clubs of Peterborough and Peterborough Minster and Round Table and raises thousands for various local charities and good causes.
Eric Dickens, chairman of the Peterborough Firework Fiesta organising committee told ESP – “It was a fantastic success. We had a record crowd of more than 11,000.
“In order to maintain our 40 year reputation of a safe event, we could not light the bonfire because of the strong winds, but it stayed dry.
“Visitors have told us that they thought that the fireworks were spectacular and the wind actually made them look even better.”
The night featured stage entertainment hosted by Heart FM as well as stalls and a funfair and proved to be another great family event.
This year the organisers brought in new traffic arrangements to ease departure from the site and Eric says it made a big difference to the event – “We’re pleased that the new traffic flow arrangements worked well, as we opened another exit.
“Bearing in mind the number of people attending, most of the traffic was out in 40 minutes, half the time of previous years.
“We are now counting the money to give to local good causes. See you on 4 November 2017!”
