Is our local star taking over the (TV) Planet?
It seems you can’t turn on the television these days without seeing local actor, Warwick Davis, on the screen. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining – I couldn’t be happier for the Harry Potter star. I’ve interviewed him many times on behalf of ESP Magazine, and not once has he been anything but polite and grateful for his opportunities.
His latest achievement is becoming the host of ‘Planet’s Got Talent’ a new spin-off from Simon Cowell’s incredibly successful Britain’s Got Talent franchise. Got Talent is officially the most successful reality television format in the world (according to Guinness Book of Records, 2014) with 230 series across 67 different territories.
With the British version alone creating so many memorable moments, imagine what other wacky and mind-blowing acts we’ve been missing out on.
Imagine no more! Warwick Davis presents the new ITV series, Planet’s Got Talent, which celebrates the weird and wonderful acts from the Got Talent shows around the world. It’ll feature unforgettable moments including a Korea’s Got Talent contestant who likes to rub Wasabi and lemons into his eyes and an Indonesia’s Got Talent hopeful who washes himself in boiling soup.
Other stand out acts will include backflipping dogs, a woman who drives a scooter through 20 panes of glass without a helmet, a Korean lady with a vendetta against apples, and a Man in India who can stuff 200 straws into his mouth at one time. This show quite literally has it all.
From Indonesia to Iceland, Bulgaria to Brazil and China to Chile you’ll see some of the very best and worst acts that the world has to offer.
Planet’s Got Talent starts tomorrow (Saturday January 17) at 6.30pm on ITV.
Warwick will also be back with another series of his Weekened Escapes series soon plus of course there’s a certain Star Wars movie coming up at the end of the year – it’s good to see the opportunities continue to come thick and fast.
