The city caught the summer vibe as Peterborough’s outdoor pool opened for the season!
The Peterborough Lido was officially opened for the summer season by The Worshipful the Mayor of Peterborough Councillor June Stokes.
Also attending the event was the Mayoress of Peterborough Karien Gait, Deputy Mayor Councillor Mohammed Nadeem, Stewart Jackson MP and Peterborough City Council Chief Executive Gillian Beasley.
To celebrate Councillor Graham Casey and Councillor John Peach took to the pool – with a helpful push from the Mayor – along with the first public swimmers of the season.
The pool has been upgraded with a new non-slip surface, improved pool lighting and refurbishment of the public areas.
There’s also a brand new onsite Lido Café and alfresco eating area.
The Lido offers three heated outdoor swimming pools, large sun-bathing terraces, a large grass lawn and playground, and with hot and cold food available from the new onsite café and eating area, the Lido is the perfect venue for a fun family day out.
So if you fancy taking a dip this summer make the most of The Peterborough Lido, it’s open Monday-Sunday from 9am-6pm. With extended hours from July 22 until September 1 when the Lido is open until 8pm each day.
Admission prices are:
Adults £4.80 (£4.30 with a Vivacity Card, £3.60 with a VivacitySportsPass and FREE to Vivacity gym members with a VivacitySportsPlusPass).
Children and concessions £3.60 (£3.10 with a Vivacity Card, £2.60 with a VivacitySportsPass and FREE with a VivacitySportsPlusPass).
Family tickets cost £10.50 for two adults and two children.
Now let’s hope there’s some great weather – please! – so we can all lounge by the pool!
