Here at ESP we’ve long supported talented street photographer Chris Porsz who’s been candidly capturing the people of Peterborough since the late 70s and has created a fine slice of social history.
He’s followed up his successful first book of photos – New England – with two new projects, both pretty handy as Christmas gifts!
His fantastic calendar Peterborough Through a Lens features more captivating shots from around the city and his new collection of images from places like Rome, Copenhagen and Budapest are featured in his latest book, Streets of Europe, packed with some incredible and unusual images in Chris’ unique style.
This local paramedic who takes his photos in his spare time has expanded his collection, this time putting his street photography style to great effect on foreign shores.
We think both his calendar and book will be on our Christmas list and would make great prezzies so pick up a copy from Peterborough Tourist information Centre on Bridge Street and Art in the Heart in the Westgate Arcade.

If you’d like to meet the man himself and pick up a signed copy, Chris is having a book signing and selling his calendar at the Tourist Information Centre on Saturday December 9 from 10am – 5pm.
He is also doing promotions in the city hospital foyer on December 8, 14, 21 and 22 with part proceeds to Breast Cancer Research and the PCH oncology department.

Chris told ESP – “I did local calendars in 2010, 2011 and 2012 featuring my eighties images and I am always being asked for another calendar so here it is. It is quirky and amusing featuring my new work around the city.
“In the eighties I regret not getting out more so over the last seven years I have roamed Britain and Europe and the result is my exciting new book Streets of Europe with some of my favourite images. If my calendar and new book make you smile then I am a happy man!”
And they certainly do – there are some incredible shots in both the book (priced £20) and the Peterborough Through a Lens calendar (priced £8). Go grab one!
