If you love musicals don’t miss Sister Act in Stamford this month…
Following on from recent successful performances of the Wizard of Oz, Singing in the Rain and Guys and Dolls, award-winning local society SAMS are back and proud to present Sister Act.
The Stamford Amateur Musical Society cast have really been put through their paces during the past 6 months rehearsing, which has culminated in a highly polished, fast moving show, filled with catchy musical numbers. You can expect a family-friendly, feel-good musical comedy show packed with infectious songs inspired by Motown, funk, soul and disco!
Based on the hit 1992 film starring Whoopi Goldberg and Maggie Smith, Sister Act tells the hilarious story of Deloris Van Cartier, a wannabe diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a crime and is put in protective custody in the last place anyone would think to look – a convent!
Catch the show at the Stamford Corn Exchange Theatre from June 8 – 11 with evening performances at 7.30pm and a Saturday matinee starting at 2.30pm. Tickets are on sale now at the box office – 01780 766455 or online www.stamford-corn-exchange.co.uk.
