A book which has reunited local people pictured in Peterborough recreating their original poses from years ago has proved so popular it’s already had a reprint!
The book Reunions was a long time dream of the city’s ‘paramedic paparazzo’ Chris Porsz, a street photographer who has taken candid pictures in and around the city for over 30 years.
Since being released in November Chris’s book has attracted global attention even resulting in interviews on Toronto radio as well as being featured on national TV, national newspapers, radio and social media.
It took painstaking research to bring his subjects back together as Chris had photographed them candidly and hadn’t recorded names. After years of appeals and social media requests he managed to track down dozens of people and incredibly bring them back to the very spot where he photographed them decades ago.
It’s proved particularly popular amongst local people who recognise faces and places and has already sold 2,000 copies with another 2,000 being printed.
Chris has been delighted by its success and told ESP – “It’s lovely that people are focussing on Peterborough all over the world because of the story of this book and that it’s representing the city in a good light.
“I had a feeling it would do OK, I knew I had something special, but I never dreamed it would go international. I’m a little in shock to be honest!
“I just want to share it – if it brings a smile that’s what it’s all about.”
We think it makes a great Christmas present for anyone from the city and Chris will be signing copies of Reunions at the following locations:
