Shoppers at Serpentine Green couldn’t believe their eyes when they came face to face with a life size polar bear in the food court on Sunday (December 15).
Bjorn the animatronic polar bear and his herder Ursula were the stars of an afternoon of Christmas entertainment at Serpentine Green. The polar bear is so realistic many customers thought it was the real thing.
Shoppers were treated to three interactive shows from Bjorn including a nature documentary style talk on polar bears and their arctic habitat. The audience was encouraged to ask questions and some brave children got the chance to stroke the bear.
There was also an appearance from a glamorous stiltwalking Christmas tree throughout the afternoon.
Chantelle Watson, manager of Serpentine Green, told ESP – “All our shoppers and staff were totally enchanted by Bjorn the Bear, he was absolutely gorgeous.”
The grotto at Serpentine Green is open every day till Christmas Eve. It is being run by volunteers to raise money for the RNIB.
