PETERBOROUGH SINGER LEXIE GREEN & THE INDIGO BLUE TO PLAY THE LONG ROAD FESTIVAL

Peterborough’s Americana singer songwriter Lexie Green & The Indigo Blue have been selected to perform on the BBC Introducing Stage hosted by Bob Harris at The Long Road Festival, Leicestershire on September 8.

The announcement was made by Bob Harris on his Radio 2 show.

The performance will be recorded for BBC Radio 2 as well as the network of  38 BBC Music Introducing shows across the UK.


38 BBC Introducing counties around the UK put artists forward from their own areas for consideration to perform (Lexie and the band were forwarded by the BBC Music Introducing Cambridgeshire team). They then went on to be selected by Bob Harris, BBC Radio 2 production teams and the Long Road Festival organisers and invited to perform on the BBC Introducing Stage at ‘The Long Road’, a brand new Country, Americana and Roots festival, Stanford Hall, Leicestershire on September 8.

Band members, Sam Carter (Wisbech) – Drums, Steve Wilson (Huntingdon) – Bass guitar, Kat Moore (Peterborough) – Fiddle, John Wright (Cambridge) – lead electric guitar and fronting the band Lexie Green (Whittlesey) – songwriter, lead vocals & rhythm guitar will be joining the line up including Carrie Underwood, The Shires, Billy Bragg, Lee Ann Womack and Ward Thomas at the brand new Americana, Country & Roots 3-day festival.

Lexie Green & The Indigo Blue are a live band, performing all original songs written by Lexie, who describes her influences as Americana, Rock and Vintage Blues. Gigging and touring locally and nationally as a band for over 5 years now, with shows from Brighton to Blackpool, 6 Music airplay, live performances on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire and at festivals such Ely Folk, Reepham and Jimmys Farm to name a few. They’ve gained the respect of promoters, fans, venues, festivals, radio presenters and sound engineers for their top class performances, international award winning songs and their audience participating fun and entertaining stage presence.
