Peterborough band Closed Circuit are organising a ‘come back’ gig after a 2 year break complete with a new line up to the band.
They’ll be hosting a gig night at Mama Liz’s in Stamford on Friday June 28 with support from three other well known local bands.
Kirsty King, lead singer from Closed Circuit told ESP – “We ended up having a break due to the pressure of the modern age band environment and the balance of our personal lives at the time. It was all non-music related and a difficult decision for us all to make.
“Myself and Lee (guitarist) were discussing the prospect of starting a new band and soon came to the realisation that we couldn’t face letting go of the songs we created and the popularity we experienced as Closed Circuit. Our comeback is due to timing. It felt right!”
Their old bandmates and friends, Ant and Dave, sadly couldn’t join them in their return so they have now welcomed Jennie (bass) and Toby (drums) to the band and are still currently looking for a rhythm guitarist to fill out the sound.
So if you were a fan of Closed Circuit or just want to see what the new line up is like, join them in Stamford at the end of the month. You can expect a night of original modern rock with a hard edge and powerful vocals from Kirsty on some big emotive songs.
Kirsty promises it’ll be a lively night and that she has a few tricks up her sleeve – “We are incredibly excited! It’s going to be great getting back to doing what we love most, performing our own music. The comeback gig is set to be a brilliant night back in our favourite local venue, Mama Liz’s in Stamford, performing with some of the best original artists on the local scene, NovaStatus, Tom Wright and Kings Lynn based band Dead Reynolds. All the bands have their own unique sound and we can’t wait to share the stage with them.”
