The latest restaurant to open in Peterborough has  got off to a great start according to Côte Restaurants.

A spokesman for the new brasserie, which has jsut opened on Church Street, told ESP –

“The  team are so delighted that the restaurant is open at last and could not wait to welcome guests in to dine. So far, the first few days have gone really well and we’ve already been receiving great comments and feedback and people saying they’ll be back to dine with us again.”

Côte have invested over a million pounds to refurbish the former Santander bank on Church Street, reinventing it as a chic and sophisticated French brasserie. The 148 cover restaurant has aslo created around 50 new jobs in the local area.

Côte Restaurants CEO, Alex Scrimgeour says, “Our location places us right in the heart of the action; amongst old buildings with striking features, but also modern retail and fashionable restaurants. We are excited to be bringing something new to the area, offering further choice to this already thriving city. We feel confident that our combination of warm and welcoming service, simple, freshly prepared French food, and excellent value for money will be popular in Peterborough.”

Guests will always find classic brasserie favourites such as steak frites, tuna Niçoise and chargrilled corn-fed Breton chicken on the menu. There’s a tempting selection of desserts on offer and Côte’s must try crème caramel is a much-loved house speciality. The wine list is extensive and informative, featuring wines from a variety of producers across France.


Ever growing interest in eating with the seasons, along with Côte’s commitment to sourcing high quality ingredients, results in monthly-changing specials and weekday lunch and early evening menus, ensuring there is always something new to delight both regular and first-time guests. At £10.95 for two courses and £12.95 for three courses the weekday lunch and early evening set menu provides outstanding value and lends itself perfectly to a quick lunch or relaxed dining. Popular dishes include pork rillettes with sourdough bread and pan roasted cod with ratatouille and a lemon and olive oil dressing.

Côte’s breakfast menus include artisanal French jams on the tables and Guérande sea-salted butter served with freshly baked croissants. The menu is comprehensive and again, very reasonably priced. The renowned eggs Benedict with homemade Hollandaise, in particular, is a favourite among guests. There is also a signature French breakfast, which includes an award-winning boudin noir, a croque monsieur, French toast and a vegetarian breakfast that is making a name for itself too, to mention just a few more choices! With long lazy brunches very much ‘en vogue’ at the moment, at weekends, breakfast is served until 1pm.
