MEET THE ROMANS IN FICTION

Writer's picture: ESP OnlineESP Online

If you’re a fan of all things Roman and love a good read, how about getting up close and personal with some of the authors who bring the Centurions to life?

You can enjoy an evening with three historical authors – Manda Scott, Ruth Downie and Ben Kane – at Peterborough Central Library, on Wednesday March 12 at 7pm.

The three authors will be ‘in conversation’ about the fascinating research behind their books, and how they recreate Roman life and times in their novels.

Ruth Downie is the author of a series of mysteries featuring Roman Army medic and reluctant sleuth, Gaius Petreius Ruso. Manda Scott went back in time to write the bestselling Boudica series. Ben Kane has written the Hannibal and Rome series, which traces one of the most bitter wars in ancient times.

Tickets  are £5 (£4 Heritage Pass holders and reading group members). Tickets are available from any Peterborough Library, Waterstones Peterborough, or Peterborough Museum.
