Peterborough DJ Paul Brice wins a slot on the Passion stage at Xstatic Festival 2013!
The DJ from Deeping topped the nationwide search and will be performing alongside performers such as Kissy Sell Out and The Loveable Rogues.
The electronic music festival which is now in its second year will be Paul’s biggest gig to date and he told ESP he can’t
wait – “I’ve been DJing for around 10 years now and I’m very proud to say a local Peterborough DJ has won a national competition, hopefully this is the start of something big!”
Paul, who takes inspiration from artists such as Armand Van Buuren and James Zabelia, will be opening the festival which is held on June 29.
“I’ve had a few of my songs played by Ministry of Sound which was amazing. The mix that won me the competition has been listened to in almost every continent now which is amazing.”
You may well recognise Paul’s name as he’s been on the Peterborough club scene for a while now having DJ-ed all over the city in clubs like Gem Bar, Bar Bloc, Westside, Dissident and Pulse.
“My sets are a mix between my own material and more popular stuff which I’ve remixed which is what I think won me the competition, the originality of the set,” Paul told ESP.
So what happens now for our lcoal success story? “The dream is to head over to Holland or the U.S. where the trance scene is massive,” says Paul.
It’s great to see another rising star in the city.
