It’s a mystery how women cope with their hormones but 80s star Toyah Wilcox aims to have a laugh finding out.
Following on from their hugely successful 2012 tour the Hormonal Housewives are coming to The Cresset for the very first time. This show is all about hilarious sketches looking at everything that makes today’s woman tick (or get ticked off), from the joys of teenagers, to the challenge of IKEA, the madness of holiday reps and the insanity of DIY.
Toyah says – “Girls… don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, 40 is the new 20.
“I’m now 54 and life isn’t slowing down. I tour my band, do TV and travel the world. I’ve even played Billie Piper’s mother in Diary Of Call Girl. Three years ago I sung for the president of Estonia; a private show for his birthday…with 400 guests!
“In 1997 I was presenting a fantastic series about women in history for BBC 2 called All About Eve when I read this quote: ‘Menopause in most ancient cultures means THE WISDOM.’ Wise words indeed. Don’t forget to tell your daughters that!”
Anyone who caught last year’s tour will need no introduction to Hormonal Housewives hilarious writer and star – Julie Coombes. Since graduating in 1992 Julie’s enjoyed a varied career in theatre, radio and television in productions ranging from Shakespeare to new writing to pantomime. Julie’s also been a regular at Scotland’s number one comedy venue, The Stand Comedy Club in Edinburgh, for the past ten years.
So grab your girlfriends for a hilariously funny evening with the Hormonal Housewives – what they can’t teach you about modern womanhood isn’t worth knowing!
