Calling all cyclists of all abilities. Here’s your chance to cycle closed roads in a huge cycling event!
The Tour of Cambridgeshire is coming back for the second year on the weekend of June 4 – 5 and the event will see over 8,000 amateur cyclists from not only from the four corners of the UK, but from all around the world setting off from Peterborough Arena.
The Tour of Cambridgeshire is the UK’s only Amateur World Championship Qualifier event and is made up of two cycling events on fully closed roads; the Chrono and Gran Fondo.
The Tour of Cambridgeshire is unlike any other mass participation event in the UK. Uniquely the event caters for everyone whether you are an elite racer, an athletic sports rider, a challenge rider, or just out to test yourself in a more leisurely way on your bike, on closed roads, around the stunning Cambridgeshire countryside. The whole event has a large production to assist with making each and every rider feel like a professional for the day.
For 2016, the Chrono, sold out in just 14 hours and will be breaking the World Record for the most cyclists participating in a one-day time trial event. The Gran Fondo is a mass participation event that is open to all ages, abilities and the perfect challenge to raise money for the charity that is close to your heart.
The ToC Festival not only involves the cycle events, but other activities for the rest of the family too, such as kids and disability cycling and running events, dance workshops and the newly launched 5k colour event and party, Tour of Colour.
This is a fabulous fun event on Friday June 3 where you can run, walk, skip or dance your way around a 5k circuit at Peterborough Arena getting covered in colour as you do it – and then enjoy a huge party with sound system and effects afterwards!
