Festival season is well underway with many people taking to fields across the country for live music and a great vibe.
This year the festival on our doorstep – the Green Meadows Festival – is making a huge return on August 11 – 13 after five years of sell-out success.
Legendary hip hop stars The Sugarhill Gang headline and will be joined by Reverend and the Makers and Stereo MCs at the Green Meadows Festival.
The Sugarhill Gang penned the first hip hop hit Rappers Delight and they’ll be joined on stage by rapper Melle Mel who wrote two of the most influencial records of the 1980s – White Lines and The Message.
The festival is held at Elton Hall Estate and features a wide range of live acts and DJs across four stages including Radio 1 legend Danny Rampling and million selling act The Stanton Warriors as well as local heroes Shades of Rhythm.
During the festival there are plenty of free activities for children including animal encounters with Bugtopia The Zoo! and live science experiments as well as inflatables and circus skills.
Hungry festival goers can enjoy award winning food and there are also cocktail and real ale bars.
Festival founder Ollie Sharp said: “We are delighted to have secured the best line up in the festival’s history. We are really excited to have The Sugarhill Gang and Melle Mel – it is a chance to see artists who changed the history of music close up.
“The event is going from strength to strength after last year’s sell out and as we say – kids play in the day – adults at night!”
The festival supports Teenage Cancer Trust so it’s raising cash for a good cause. It is brilliant to have a huge music festival right on our doorsteps so don’t miss your opportunity to partake in this fun-packed event suitable for the whole family!
Prices: Weekend tickets, kids – £10, adults £85. Day tickets are from £35.
