Crowds gathered outside Serpentine Green to watch Heart FM and the stars of the Cresset panto switch on the centre’s lights.
The big event on Thursday November 16 saw Mitch Hewer – from Skins and Casualty – along with the Cresset’s panto Dame Zack Vanderfelt from Snow White press the plunger to get the festivities officially underway at the Hampton shopping centre.
Another highlight in the night’s entertainment was Santa breakdancing on stage and his dance moves proved a real hit with the shoppers who cheered him on.
Heart FM’s breakfast hosts Kev and Ros compered the switch on and gave away plenty of prizes to keep the lively crowds happy including tickets to the Steps concert at the ABAX stadium in Peterborough next year.
Inside the centre there were lots of extra stalls and activities throughout the evening and as the plunger was pressed on stage with a hail of confetti a huge Christmas tree outside, and the decorations inside, all lit up to the delight of local families.
