Students can gain careers advice at Peterborough Regional College’s (PRC) annual Career Awareness Fair on Wednesday April 2 between 10am and 2pm. The event is a great way for  their students to find out about the world of work and to explore their options for the future.

The College has a diverse student population, all with their own goals and ambitions for the future, with this in mind, a wide range of organisations have been invited to the event including Coca Cola, Anne Corder Recruitment, Marshall Aerospace just to name a few.

Students will also be able to find out about apprenticeships and training schemes, higher education, volunteering and full and part time work opportunities.

Careers Advisor for PRC and event organiser, Jennie Grove told ESP – “Meeting professional people in an informal environment is a great way for our students to practise their communication and social skills.  They have been preparing for the event by completing a skills audit and exploring career options through the Kudos Inspire careers programme. They have also been able to research the employers and other organisations attending so that they can prepare questions and really make the most of the event.”

She added: “Throughout the week students will also be able to access CV and Interview Skills workshops delivered by JobSmart, our employment specialists. There will also be displays around college challenging career stereotypes, and highlighting new and emerging career areas.”

PRC is a matrix accredited college for the provision of careers advice and guidance they embed across the curriculum. Events like these ensure that all students have access to careers information, advice and guidance to help them to plan for their future.
