ESP headed down to ‘The World’s Most Exciting Career Fair’ and we can confirm it really does beat all others!
Located on The Embankment today (July 18), sharing the site where Willow Festival was and Levity Festival will be this weekend, they really tapped into the exciting festival atmosphere to make this the ultimate in career fairs.
There was possibly a business for everyone to chat to from forensic science to newspapers to cars.
Live music was also an attraction at the fair, seeing acts such as Chozen, Poni and Burning Codes taking the stage.
Hundreds of young people had already visited the site when we popped down with plenty more scheduled throughout the day.
Students from places like Huntingdon and Sawtry had even made the journey to attend.
Sue Addison, Skills Lead for Opportunity Peterborough, who’d organised the event, told ESP – “All young people should have a look to make informed choices in whatever area they are interested in, and have fun doing so!”
The event was held in partnership with Peterborough DNA programme which has brought a £3million grant to Peterborough to help drive the development of local skills to meet the city’s future business needs.
This really earned the right to call itself ‘The World’s Most Exciting Career Fair’, and we think it was a great way of introducing young people to some of the job opportunities out there – let’s hope we’ll see similar events of this kind in future!
