New single Someone Like You is out today (October 10) and the video was filmed at Nene Valley Railway!
Adrian Duffy & the Mayo Brothers went to school in Spalding for 5 years, and still have a lot of family and friends all over
Peterborough, Stamford and Oundle (where their cousins Fenech-Soler are from) so won’t be short of local support, but we need to spread the word – more views on YouTube mean they’re more likely to get playlisted.
You can check out the video below so spread the word and let’s get the lads on Radio 2!
The video was filmed on location at Nene Valley Railway where some great dramas/films have been shot over the years, including Silent Witness, Band Of Brothers, Golden Eye, Octopussy as well as music videos for Queen, The Levellers and now The Mayo Brothers.
“The whole team at Nene Valley Railway were wonderful,” Adrian told ESP, “as were the many good friends and family who pulled out all the stops to make this happen for us… we owe you all big-time!!”
The brothers workin’ it out, are Adrian Duffy (acoustic guitar, vocals, bass & mandolin), Chris Duffy (drums & percussion) and Melvin Duffy (pedal steel, slide & electric guitars, bass & vocals), who grew up around much of East Anglia.
Melvin is one of the world’s foremost slide and pedal steel guitarists, and has toured for three years with Robbie Williams (did the business on Eternity) and amongst the many great gigs worldwide, got to perform at Knebworth.
2013 has also seen sessions and tours for Mike Scott & The Waterboys and performances with First Aid Kit on this year’s Glastonbury Pyramid Stage.
Someone Like You is the third EP taken from the current run of songs and comes in anticipation of a new album and UK & Ireland tour in May 2014.
Through their uncles The Duffy Brothers, the lads spent a lot of their childhood backstage with the likes of Tammy Wynette, Charlie Pride, Emmylou Harris, watching and learning from the good and the great.
They’re hotly tipped by Radio 2 and have been getting great reviews – you can catch them in action locally at Charters on Sunday November 3 at 3pm. Now getting sharing the video around and see if you recognise all the locations… we want the car!
