A new single by talented Peterborough twins brings us double good vibes.
Here at ESP we’ve long been fans of the super talented twins Classical Reflection – Hannah and Naomi Moxon. Just in time to lift all our spirits they released a beautiful new song just before Christmas called Till There Was You.
That song reached No. 6 in the Easy Listening chart recently and it’s just as likely to lift your spirits now in gloomy January, but we’re excited to hear they have another new release coming soon.
The twins – who competed on The Voice TV show a few years ago – kept fans entertained during previous lockdowns last year on their Facebook pages, but Hannah and Naomi told ESP they were keen to release new material and safely managed to record this song when we entered the second lockdown in November.
“Well it was actually a very last minute decision to record the song,” the girls told ESP, “we really wanted to record while in lockdown but never dreamed it would be possible. So when we heard that our engineer could edit our voices from his home rather than a studio we all decided to go for it.
“We think it’s so important to get new music out, especially when lots of people are working from home, more people than ever are listening to music, it’s a big part of all our lives.”
The atmospheric video was filmed at Pentney Abbey near Hunstanton and is beautifully shot.
“We have a lovely videographer who we worked with a few years ago, we all wanted a little project to work on and it has been so enjoyable,” the twins told ESP.
“During lockdown it has been a difficult time for everyone, so a little bit of new music always helps to give some joy. This song isn’t strictly Christmassy but we really think that it felt very festive to us.
“It’s a beautiful setting it looks like a castle. Pete the filmmaker had the concept for the video, we think it looks a bit like Narnia. There was even fake snow.”
Last year the girls made various appearances before the lockdown struck and while concerts and events were halted they remained busy teaching singing throughout the pandemic and have seen a real uptake in virtual lessons.
There’s no doubt music has been a saviour for many of us and with the latest single doing so well in the charts, Hannah and Naomi tell us they’re already working on another.
“Lockdown has been tricky for everyone, we do feel very lucky to still be able to teach singing from our home. We have loved seeing our students weekly, they are just lovely people to work with. We have got our 7 month old Cavalier King Charles puppy Wally too, he keeps us very busy as he is so full of beans.”
“We have so many dreams for the future music wise, we are doing another single and we are really excited about it. We are going to be working with a composer on it so we can’t wait for you to hear it.
“We would love to sing the National Anthem at Wembley again, return to the Royal Albert Hall again when it reopens and we would absolutely love to sing on Songs of Praise. We make a list of the dreams for the year and how we can achieve them, it has definitely helped us to have goals.”
