LEARN MINDFULNESS THROUGH MEDITATION

We all lead busy and demanding lives which can leave us with little time to stop and be present in the moment. It’s a common problem which can sometimes mean our minds are not where they should be – enjoying the here and now.

You might not even be aware but when you stop and focus on your thoughts, you may find that you are thinking of the past or pondering the future.

Through mindfulness and meditation training, you can learn to focus your thoughts on the present moment and get the most out of your time and life.

That’s why Paul Greenlay and Dr Helen Trill have set up an eight week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course at the Bubbling Spring Clinic in Peterborough.

Both Paul and Helen have a lot of experience in the field of meditation and mindfulness. Paul has taught courses in a variety of settings including large companies, schools and also trains others to teach mindfulness in collaboration with Coventry University. Helen has a background in medical device development,and practices Chinese acupuncture, cupping therapy, and sports massage at Bubbling Spring Clinic. She teaches pilates, meditation and tai chi qigong to groups and individuals, so as you can see, you will be in very good hands.

Paul explains: “The course helps us to explore, through practicing mindfulness and meditation, what might be preventing us from experiencing contentment in the present moment and leading a more joyful life.”

Paul continues: “Mindfulness is about waking up, learning to manage our more challenging emotions and discovering the contentment that exists in the present moment.

“Our mindfulness and compassion courses are CPD accredited by the Standards Office and are based on the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction pathway developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at Massachusetts Medical University and the MBCT program developed by Mark Williams here in the UK.                          

“They are suitable for everyone from absolute beginners to those with more experience and participants just need to bring with them a commitment to practice and a curious attitude.”

The course starts Thursday September 24 with a free introductory session from 7-8pm, and if you like what you learn, it will be followed by a further 8 sessions from Thursday October 1 to Thursday November 19 running every Thursday evening from 7-8.30pm at Bubbling Spring Clinic on Allan Avenue, Stanground, Peterborough.

The price for those that book by September 7th is £175 and £195 thereafter.

You will receive a course manual and audio material that offer guidance when you’re away from the group so you can continue your learning.
