KEY COMEDY FESTIVAL BRINGS THE LAUGHS TO PETERBOROUGH

Now in its seventh year, the Key Theatre is hosting a fantastic fest of comedy this month as its much-loved Key Comedy Festival returns.

Featuring a mix of established headliners plus a selection of the comedy circuit’s finest up and coming acts there’s truly something for everyone, however if you need some inspiration before you buy your tickets here are our highlights of what’s on offer:

For fans of puns and one-liners…

Appropriately titled ‘Gagster’s Paradise’, Gary Delaney’s brand new show (Saturday March 9, 7.30pm) promises an evening of expertly crafted gaggery.

A Mock the Week regular, Gary’s shows are renowned in the business for a near unrivalled volume of high-class gags, and he’s been described as having ‘more quality jokes in one hour than most comics have in their entire careers’ by The Scotsman.

For fans of Soccer AM…

After the success of his UK tour, comedian, choirboy and host of Soccer AM Lloyd Griffith is back on the road with his hilarious new stand-up show (Key Studio, Thursday March 7, 8pm).

Expect jokes, dubious impressions, jokes, a bit of choral singing, jokes, maybe a fact about a Cathedral, jokes and probably the story about that time he had a toilet incident on the A46.

For fans of intellectual comedy… Ahir Shah’s latest comedy show ‘Duffer’ (Sunday March 10, 8pm) is about life and what comes after, death and what comes before, and Bohemian Rhapsody.

Duffer is touring the UK fresh from critically acclaimed sell out runs at London’s Soho Theatre and Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where it earned Shah his second nomination in a row for Best Show at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards.

For fans of Taskmaster…

Cluster-bombed with yoghurt on ‘Taskmaster’, half-killed on ‘Bear Grylls’ Celebrity Island’, Mark Watson (Thursday March 7, 7.30pm) returns to what he’s best at: being indoors.

As scrawny and impassioned as ever, one of the UK’s wittiest and thinnest acts offers some suggestions on improving the state of the world at his usual high joke-and-rant-per-minute rate.
