GREASE IS THE WORD AS LEADS FOR PETERBOROUGH SHOW ARE ANNOUNCED

Casting the right people for an iconic musical like GREASE was never going to be an easy job, but TAG Theatre Productions have found the perfect pair for the lead roles.

Lily Barron-Clark, from Bourne, will be playing the role of Sandy, the sweet new girl in town who falls for Danny during a school break. On successfully getting the part, Lily said – “I can’t wait for the show to start, the atmosphere will be unbeatable, especially with a large crowd, it’s a once in a lifetime experience.”

Sandy’s love interest, the charismatic Danny Zuko, will be aptly played by local band Caustic Lights’ frontman, Calvin Weston. Calvin, from Werrington, who’s performed with local dance studio TuDanse at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London, has always enjoyed being the centre of attention from an early age, “I love the escapism from real life, you get to live and breathe someone else’s life for a few hours on stage, and the singing and dancing is such a spectacle that pairs wonderfully with the acting and characterisation in most musicals.”

Show Director, Darren Maddison, was delighted with the standard of those that auditioned to be in GREASE and says it’s shaping up to be an amazing show. “We are so pleased to have found Calvin and Lily, the moment they met we knew they were perfect for the parts. In fact the entire cast is incredibly strong and audiences are going to love this new, vibrant and fresh production of GREASE.”

Due to phenomenal ticket sales already, TAG Theatre Productions are adding an extra show to be performed on Wednesday October 16 at 7.30pm. Show Producer, Catherine Mayer, commented “The interest in our performance of GREASE has surpassed everyone’s expectations, and with still a few months to go before the show, it’s bound to be a sell out, so we wanted to make sure there were still seats available to those wanting to see this iconic musical.”

GREASE The Musical has also gained a headline sponsor with Princebuild Ltd, a Peterborough-based family-run business who specialise in providing a diverse range of services across the construction industry. Publicity Officer, Tony Mayer said – “We’re so pleased to have a local company like Princebuild supporting us. They’re a company that was founded here, their head office is here and they are proud to be part of Peterborough as we are.”

The nation’s all-time favourite musical GREASE is taking place at Peterborough’s Key Theatre from October 16 – 19.

Tickets are now on sale and can be booked via the Key Theatre website or by calling the box office on 01733 207239.
