This bittersweet but uplifting triumph of a show explores the issues that confront many young people today: prejudice, identity, pride, literacy, sexuality, substance abuse and perseverance.
Back in 1980 they sang that fame would last forever… and it seems this show based on the story of the students at New York’s High School For The Performing Arts has done just that!
From the film to the musical the story of the heartbreaks and highs of these wannabe stars hoping to make it in showbiz continues to be a hit with audiences worldwide.
It’s inspired by the film, but don’t expect a direct translation to the stage, this show has a personality of its own.
Fame The Musical has seen seven West End runs since opening on Broadway in 1988 so don’t miss it this week at the New Theatre in Peterborough – it’s here until Saturday November 30.
