COMEDY TICKETS SELLING FAST

Levity Festival offers up three days of laughs…

Comedy fans have been snapping up tickets to this summer’s three-day Levity Festival spectacular.

Thousands of tickets have already been sold since going on sale via www.ticketmaster.co.uk at the start of May, and organisers are delighted with the response.

Situated in Peterborough, Levity Festival is the UK’s only three-day outdoor festival of its type dedicated to comedy and will be headlined by star names Al Murray, Lee Nelson and Omid Djalili.

Many other comic stars of TV are due to appear over the weekend of July 19 to 21  including Chris Ramsey, Richard Herring, Lucy Beaumont, Doc Brown, Stephen K Amos, Alun Cochrane, Maeve Higgins and Phil Cool.

Mark Ringer, who’s organising the event alongside Tony Scibelli and Stef Malajny, told ESP – “We know there is a big appetite for comedy in the Peterborough area and we are very pleased at the response to the Levity Festival so far.

“We have some of the biggest names in UK comedy appearing in Peterborough over the weekend, so it is not only amazing for the city but it is also attracting regional and national interest.”

There’ll be more than 150 acts appearing in seven arenas over the three days on Peterborough’s Embankment, including plenty of entertainment for children and families. A children’s comedy fun area will feature CBBC presenter Ed Petrie, and Stamford-based Wildcats Theatre School will host workshops and musical theatre sessions. There’ll also be a fully supervised crèche to allow parents to go off and explore the festival fun.

Mark, who’s also behind The Willow Festival in Peterborough, added – “We have a number of ticket price structures in place and weekend General Admission tickets for the event begin at just £50, making it less expensive than buying a day ticket for other events of this scale and quality. The ticket price represents great value when considering the number of top comedians performing and the additional satellite attractions. The event is licensed for 20,000 people so we are expecting to see big crowds over the weekend.”

Camping will be available very close to the main festival arena at Potters Way.

To ensure festival-goers are kept refreshed during the laughter, Levity Festival will be offering varied menus from its food village and fair price bars.
