Time Team and Blackadder star Tony Robinson returns to Peterborough for the second time this year on Friday August 10, this time as a guest speaker at Flag Fen.
The TV star reopened the city’s wonderfully revamped Museum in Priestgate earlier this year and spoke then of his love of Peterborough’s famous archaeological site where new digs are taking place over the summer.
Tony told ESP – “I love the place. It’s an amazing archaeological site. With the Museum and Flag Fen, I’m convinced Peterborough is well on its way to becoming one of the most provincial centres for history and archaeology in the country.”
His visit this time will be a unique open-air talk in the atmospheric surrounds of Flag Fen Archaeology Park and of course a fantastic opportunity to meet one of Britain’s most famous faces of archaeology. This opportunity has been made possible by DigVentures, who will be conducting on-site excavations this summer.
In this exciting event Tony will be talking about his personal experiences presenting various historical programmes, including Time Team, and his love of archaeology. This talk will be followed by a question and answer session with the audience.
During this personal affair the audience will be treated to a VIP experience, with access to a private area, a barbecue and a beer tent. As this event is outside the audience are being advised to be prepared for any weather. If the British summertime weather is true to form then they have a plan b to move inside!
Having re-opened Peterborough Museum in March to great fanfare, Vivacity are delighted to welcome Tony back as they host a groundbreaking archaeological dig – the first at Flag Fen for a decade.
Tickets are priced at £10 for adults, £8 for concessions and £5 for Heritage Pass holders. Admission to Flag Fen is included in this ticket price.
Tickets are available to buy from the Key Theatre box office on 01733 207239.
