Queensgate Shopping Centre has announced local charity Little Miracles as its new Charity of the Year partner for 2018/19.
For the past year Queensgate has been supporting Anna’s Hope, who received invaluable awareness from being the centre’s Charity of the Year and managed to raise a whopping £11,100.
Carole Hughes from Anna’s Hope said, “We really enjoyed working with Queensgate as their charity of the year. It not only helped raise over £11,000 for children with brain tumours, it also raised awareness of Anna’s Hope and the work we do. We really enjoyed working with the team at Queensgate who really got behind our charity at the events throughout the year and all at Anna’s Hope thank them for their support.”
Little Miracles is a charity that supports families that have children with additional needs, disabilities and lifelong conditions. Just like everyone else, these children and their families need a place to play, laugh and create friendships which Little Miracles helps to provide through their ten centres across the East of England. The charity aims to reduce the isolation which some families go through and to support each family as a whole, whether that be a parent, sibling, carer or close family friend.
“Appointing a new Charity of the Year is always a hard process as we have so many fantastic charities wanting to be involved and after careful consideration, we chose Little Miracles. They do fantastic work over the region and we are delighted to be able to help them in any way we can over the next 12 months,” said Centre Director, Mark Broadhead.
During the next year, Queensgate will use all its resources available to support Little Miracles and will help them host fundraising events in the centre and engage with the local community to raise funds and awareness of the 800,000 disabled children in the UK. This money will be invaluable and will help the charity to continue to help and improve the lives of the families that have children with additional needs.
Michelle King from Little Miracles said “We are absolutely thrilled to have been chosen by Queensgate as their Charity of the Year! After setting up the new sensory room in the centre, we have met, and supported lots of local families and we can’t wait to get on the mall to raise awareness and funds, so we can help many more. Thank you to Queensgate for this fantastic opportunity.”
