LOCAL FIRMS GIVE PANTO TICKETS TO CITY CHARITIES

The YMCA and The Cresset have been spreading Christmas cheer delivering panto tickets to local charities…

If you’re in need of a heart-warming story, or simply want to become an even prouder Peterborian, read on to hear about the excellent work our local businesses and charities have been involved with.

Local companies have helped over 60 children from deprived backgrounds visit the Panto this Christmas, thanks to a scheme run by YMCA Trinity Group and The Cresset.

YMCA Trinity Group has created a special sponsorship package for this year’s performance of Snow White at The Cresset. The packages were then bought by a raft of generous local businesses and will be delivered to charities including TACT, Adfam and Kinship, EACH, Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice and Anna’s Hope to add some Christmas sparkle for deprived children.

The tickets not only include admission for two children and their guardians to see the show, but also an ice cream at the interval, a gift from Santa and a donation to YMCA Trinity Group’s family services in Peterborough.

Jo Ruff, Head of Family Support at Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice commented: “To be able to offer some of our families the opportunity to go to a Christmas pantomime, where for a short time they can be a ‘normal’ family again and make some special lasting memories together, is a special gift. It can make a real difference at a very difficult time.”

Johnathan Martin, CEO of YMCA Trinity Group, added: “We are delighted by the response from local businesses and that so many children will get to experience the magic of the pantomime – a Christmas tradition that many of them will not have had the opportunity to experience before.”

Sponsorship packages are still available, should any businesses or individuals wish to give an unforgettable gift this Christmas. Packages cost £60 and are available by emailing fundraising@ymcatrinity.org.uk or by calling 01733 373188.
