A new Peterborough pop-up shop could solve some of your Christmas gift dilemmas and give you the chance to come up with something wild and wonderful!
From Saturday December 1 to Saturday January 12 the Wildlife Trust are taking over a retail unit in Peterborough’s Queensgate shopping centre; the Trust will be opening up shop in Westgate Arcade which will be stocked with wildlife-themed merchandise – everything from bird and bat boxes, hedgehog and insect homes, field guide books, 2019 calendars, Christmas cards, stocking fillers and fun accessories.
When it comes to giving at the festive season many of us have most of the things that we need, and present buying can end up being a time-consuming and expensive stress. If you fancy a more meaningful, thoughtful gift which will last throughout the year and benefit local wildlife and the environment what about the gift of Wildlife Trust membership? This is available as a Membership Gift Box – inside is a copy of the latest Local Wildlife magazine, seat belt buddy badger, a torch and various other goodies – and the recipient will have a year’s membership of the Trust.
The Trust’s Pop Up Shop will be the first ever voluntary sector shop in the Queensgate centre. It will be featuring Homes for Wildlife, with des res boxes and houses on sale for all of Peterborough’s wild residents: agreeable annexes for prickly friends, taking the first step on the rung of the bird property ladder – everything that Peterborough’s insect, bat, bird or hedgehog might desire and require!
The shop will be run by Trust staff and volunteers and will be a fun and vibrant place to visit, to chat to staff and find out all about the conservation work which takes place across the county.
If you’re interested in volunteering in the shop please give them a call or pop in or visit:
