Peterborough singer Aston Merrygold has just released his latest single from his forthcoming album.

Following Aston’s triumphant return to pop with energetic, high-tempo dance track I Ain’t Missing You, his new release, Too Late, is  available to download / stream now.

Our local hero who shot to fame in the X Factor as part of the pop phenomenon JLS, Aston enjoyed success with five chart-topping singles, a further five Top 10 hits and four smash hit albums.

Now he’s enjoying a  successful solo career which has seen him release some great diverse tracks.

aston-aw-with-logo-and-name-topToo Late is a down-tempo slow-burner which is identifiably Aston, showcasing a softer, transparent stripped back version of him, which enhances his undeniable falsetto range alongside warmly textured, understated production.

The track flawlessly transitions from one of our favourites, the Disco-funk fuelled Get Stupid, and the high-octane I Ain’t Missing You, whilst still being grounded firmly in contemporary pop.

Too Late is a heartfelt message of hope and optimism – something that Aston really has to remind himself of when he face challenges in his own life.

Aston explains, “We all make mistakes, have bad experiences and struggles at times. We can’t change the past but we can learn from it. ‘Too Late’ is a reminder to take a step back and gain perspective. Until you know where you went wrong you can’t make it right. Have a little patience – success and happiness cannot be achieved by taking the fast track, it’s about taking the right track.”

Debut solo smash Get Stupid was Aston’s first foray into solo stardom, with the track receiving huge international success, gaining platinum status in Australia as well as topping the radio airplays charts throughout Europe. Aston also travelled the globe on a colossal promo trail to celebrate the release of the single, which included a show-stopping performance on The Late Late Show with James Corden.

Aston’s main creative collaborators on the forthcoming album were one-man hit machine Edwin ‘Lil’ Eddie’ Serrano (Usher, Jessie J) and Talay Riley (Ellie Goulding, Iggy Azalea). In addition, songwriting duo Karen Poole and Sonny J. Mason also made several vital contributions to the collection, as did his former JLS associate Steve Daly. The roots of the album mostly lay in his childhood influences – Michael Jackson, James Brown, Usher and Justin Timberlake – but also in his lifelong dream “to make my own type of music and make my own decisions.”

Alongside various live international shows, 2016 has also seen Aston performing at Wireless Festival and out in Ibiza with Kygo, touring with Jason Derulo and featuring on the Throttle track ‘Moneymaker’ alongside Lunchmoney Lewis.
