When it comes to creating original names for local festivals, you’ve got to hand it to pub owners Nick and Diane Lander from the Angel Inn in Yarwell.
Because in May they raised over £1600 for the Everyman cancer charity with the Knobworth festival, and now at the end of this month they’re giving us the return of WOOFSTOCK.
Yes you guessed it – a fundraising event for the Retired Greyhound Trust.
Nick told ESP – “Because we’ve given a loving home to five greyhounds over the years, we know first hand what wonderful domestic companions they make and want to both promote the breed as a fantastic pet, whilst at the same time raising money for the charity.”
The Retired Greyhound Trust is dedicated to finding loving homes for greyhounds when their racing days are over.
Over the two days, local musicians and bands will be playing live in the pub’s beer garden, and already scheduled to appear are Let There B/DC, Filthy Lucre, Kickback, Sir Scallyway, Lexi Green, Gone to the Dogs, Intwined, the Conspiracy Club, The Mangelics and We Sell Tigers.
All appearances will be accompanied by a great real ale and cider festival complete with the obligatory BBQ – a day out in itself.
The fourth annual Woofstock festival is taking place at The Angel Inn, Yarwell on Saturday July 28 & Sunday July 29 – don’t miss it!
