WONDERSTUFF’S MILES COMES TO MAMA’S

mileserica(1)Miles Hunt from The Wonderstuff is just one highlight at Mama Liz’s Voodoo Lounge in Stamford this month as the Venue continues its first birthday celebrations with a packed line-up of gigs and entertainment.

You probably only know Miles Hunt as the front man of late 80s alt-rock band The Wonder Stuff and even if you don’t know that you’ll almost certainly have heard some of that prolific and tumultuous band’s hits – Dizzy and Size of a Cow being the obvious ones.

You may even know that The Wonder Stuff have just re-released a special 20th anniversary version of first album The Eight Legged Groove Machine.

On Friday November 20 you can catch Miles up close and personal in the atmospheric converted cellar that is the Voodoo Lounge along with new fiddler player Katrina Nockalls. Expect a folkier style set to his Wonderstuff incarnation but one to get you up and dancing nonetheless! Since The Wonderstuff originally split back in 1994 (reforming for a time six years later) Miles has gone on to produce eight solo albums and there’s no sign of him giving up yet. Support on the night comes from Richard Gombault and The Candles Thieves. Tickets are £10 in advance and £12 on the door.

It’s great to see this venue on North Street making such a  mark on the local music scene in just over a year of opening. Other gigs this month include…

Friday November  13 Battle of the Bands with Death Valley Pile Driver, Komatyzed, Autmn Ablaze and Broken Mentality.

Saturday Novemebr 21 – Lexie Green + The Rich Hall Band

Saturday Novemebr 28 – Stealer (Free tribute band)
