Join ESP at the launch of the Peterborough Festival on Saturday June 26 as the big parade gets the festivities underway.
Peterborough city centre will come alive with a carnival atmosphere as the parade weaves its way from the Embankment through Cathedral Square and along Broadway all the way down to Central Park where the first big weekend is being held.
There’ll be free music and entertainment throughout the day from 12pm at Central Park including the ESP Dance Crew taking to the stage twice during the afternoon. There’ll be a community zone with food tastings, a mobile planetarium, scouting displays, loads of stalls and interactive displays, a Teenfest Zone staging the Peterborough’s Youth Got Talent contest and loads more.
At 6pm Peterborough’s X Factor star Nicole Lawrence will take to the main stage and will be belting out the tunes as only she knows how with the Steve Hession Big Band and then the headliners Stavros Flately from Britain’s Got Talent will entertain the crowds at 6.45pm. You can also meet the guys in a special meet and greet session too.
ESP and Stduio One will be there throughout the weekend snapping the action plus you can have your own Festival portrait taken which you can buy on the day. You can also enter the Face of ESP on sight – just visit the tent in the centre roundabout near the Buttercross Tearooms.
Grab a picnic and settle down for a day of free entertainment and fun in the sun as Peterborough Festival gets underway.
The party in the park continues on Sunday June 27 with more live entertainment from 12pm with the final of Peterborough’s Youth Got Talent at 1pm on the Teenfest stage.
In the evening the weekend ends with Orchestra da Camera on the main stage with a fabulous free concert at 7.30pm. This is one of the UK’s senior chamber orchestras and they’ve performed all over the UK and Europe. The programme includes music from the movies as well as popular classics.
The Peterborough Festival continues until July 10 so grab a programme or visit www.vivacity-peterborough.com/festival
