SERPENTINE’S ACTS GOT TALENT

Six acts from Serpentine Green’s heat have been chosen in the ten finalists in Young Peterborough’s Got Talent.

The acts going through to the final on Saturday February 18 include singer Chad Sellors, contemporary and ballet dancer Hollie Grant, street dancer Benjamin Syder, singer Claudia Sleight, freestyle dancer Kyle Tone  and girl band Thirteen Plus.

Serpentine Green hosted the final round of auditions for the competition run by youth charity Young Lives. The competition is open to young people aged between eleven and nineteen years old. Twenty three local acts took part peforming in front of shoppers and a panel of youth judges.

Lucy Allbut from local girl band Thirteen Plus said - “We are a group of friends who love to sing, when we saw the poster we thought we could enter the competition for fun. After rehearsals we decided that we really want to win it. Thirteen Plus is a group of ordinary school girls aged 13 and 14 and we love One Direction.”

Singer Claudia Sleight aged 12 years said – “I have always dreamed of performing to an open audience and this is my chance to shine. I really hope my dream comes true.”

Chantelle Watson, deputy manager at Serpentine Green told ESP – “We are delighted that six of the final acts are young people who shop at Serpentine Green. Young Lives do an amazing job empowering young people so we were pleased to help out by hosting the event.”

Emma Robson from Young Lives added – “We had a great day  at Serpentine Green – the response form Peterborough has been fantastic and we are really looking forward to the final.”

The Serpentine Green performers will compete for the title of Young Peterborough’s Got Talent 2012 Champion on Saturday February 18 at The Voyager Academy. The event starts at 7pm and tickets are £1.00. For more information getcreative@young-lives.org.uk
