The Riverside Festival returns to Stamford on July 4 for one of the best value music festivals in the entire country. Sponsored by Ideal Shopfitters and organised by volunteers on a not-for-profit basis, the one day festival features four stages which cater for pretty much all tastes in music. We like it so much we’ve made it one of our series of Perfect Ten events, celebrating our ten years in business, so look out for us at the fest!

The main stage is the Riverside Stage and headlining are Neck, a London/Irish folk/punk band. They’ve performed at Glastonbury six times and their raucous but melodic party music will be a great close to a stage that’ll be showcasing some of the area’s best local bands and festival favourites. Also on the Riverside Stage will be fast-emerging electro band Rosie and the Goldbug, who’ve already managed to score a Number 1 in the UK Club charts and an advert contract with Rimmel. Describing themselves as ‘Kate Bush on crack,’ their cool, uplifting Indie disco will be perfect to dance to on the Meadows.
If you’re more into punk, hardcore and metal, then head for the pit in the Marquee Stage. Loads of up-and-coming local acts will be attempting to tear up the tent, with headliners Death Valley Piledriver, who’ve recently been awarded four K’s in Kerrang! for their live show, finishing the job. Of course, more relaxed sounds will be on offer in the Acoustic tent, where roots and world acts will be taking to the stage. Headlining is Nuala and The Alchemy Quartet, Wychwood favourites specialising in a blend of roots and funk. The Busker’s Stage is your chance to play at the festival – slots to perform are available to book on-line now, or you can just turn up on the day.
There’ll be entertainment for all ages too, with funfairs, craft stalls, food vans and a beer festival. Admission’s just £2 for adults and £1 for kids over ten, so there’s really no excuse not to take the whole family along!
