NEW LOOK AS PANTHERS CELEBRATE 40th

Peterborough Panthers speedway team are all set to roar into the new season with an anniversary make-over!

The Panthers have taken on board a top international creative agency to give them a new-look going into 2010.

Hemisphere Creative, whose clients include the world-famous Cunard Line, French jewellers Cartier, and adventure travel company Exodus, will create a thrusting brand.

Their arrival coincides with planning for Peterborough’s 40^th Anniversary, having staged their first East of England Showground meeting on June 12, 1970.

Hemisphere Creative have been working closely with the Panthers’ owners and management team on this re-branding including this new logo for the club, a major marketing campaign and a state-of-the-art website.

They’ve also designed a special 40^th Anniversary logo that will be used on a range of souvenir merchandise that will be on sale when the new season gets underway in March.

Club owner Rick Frost told ESP – “We took over the Panthers at very short notice in August 2008 and spent last year looking thoroughly at the business.

“We’ve already made a number of changes and now we are entering the second phase of our business plan to turn Peterborough into a thriving concern on and off the track.

“This involves what we believe will be an unique marketing exercise aimed at building on our existing fan base by attracting a fresh and younger audience to meetings at the East of England Showground.

“We have brought in the experts and want to marry the club’s great tradition with a forward-looking approach to winning new supporters.

“The first step in what will be a lengthy programme of improvements is to have a new logo that will be worn by the riders throughout the season.”

Another early innovation is a change of principal address of the existing club website which can now also be reached on www.peterboroughspeedway.co.uk.

Rick added: “Work is already going on behind the scenes on a complete overhaul for the website which, I’m sure, will make it the most appealing and talked-about website in speedway.

“It will be some weeks before that goes on line but it will be well worth the wait.”
