Listen up fashionistas – John Lewis Peterborough has added fashion label Damsel in a Dress to its extensive fashion offer for Autumn Winter 2010.
Exclusive to John Lewis, the Damsel in a Dress collection has been created by Alison Mansell, (the designer behind the dress worn by Samantha Cameron that gained much media attention last year).
Drawing its inspiration from the female form, her designs embody feminine chic.
Each piece has been carefully designed to embrace feminine curves and the Autumn Winter 2010 collection is an ultra-feminine collection of classic yet eclectic pieces.
The label offers a range of timeless, luxurious, hand-made pieces in limited numbers – giving the exclusive feel of haute couture at affordable prices and a startling contrast to High Street fast fashion.
The collection fuses embellished vintage with contemporary design details such as modern cuts, prints and seaming.
Signature pieces from the Damsel in a Dress Autumn Winter 2010 collection include an elegant take on the classic women’s suit with boxy jacket and a softly draped dress, while the winter sunset dress features splashes of pink and purple inspired by the dramatic colour of a winter sky.
Wardrobe classics such as perfectly cut coats and trousers are contrasted with patterned tops for a modern edge to this elegant look.
Decorative interest is added by exclusive oversize prints, enlarged to make bold statements on silk tunics and shifts.
The gorgeous dress and jacket pictured right are both priced at £169, the purple harlequin dress is £159 and the black coat £249.
