NEW CLUB ON THE BLOCK

Club Metro is the new club on the block – London Road to be precise – and this new venue has just thrown open its doors in Peterborough.

The club’s aiming at a slightly older bracket when it comes to clubbing, but will also serve as a new entertainment venue staging a homecoming gig by local lad Aston Merrygold and the boys from JLS.

Manager Brian Hamilton told ESP – “Club Metro is aiming for an audience of 21’s plus and will introduce various themed evenings including 70’s, 80’s, Soul, Reggae and more, to suit all tastes in the future.”

Every Friday and Saturday night from 8.30 pm onwards Club Metro will be opening as a nightclub with a selection of music for all tastes. It’s open until 2.30am with resident and guest DJ’s.  Promoter and DJ Simon Baker is the  Saturday night resident and various promotions are planned in the near future.

JLS fans left disappointed after the bad weather meant their original city gig had to be postponed can catch the X Factor heroes at Club Metro  on April 7 (under 18’s) and April 10 (18 plus). Manager Brian Hamilton told ESP  – “I think this is the best thing to happen to Peterborough for many years and we’re looking forward to welcoming the boys and all their fans to what will be a fabulous event.”

Brian added – “As part of our introduction to the Peterborough club scene and by way of welcoming all visitors to the club, we’re offering a fixed price entry of just £5 for the next few weeks along with special prices on our draught beers.

“We don’t see ourselves as competitors to the other excellent clubs in the city, more complementary as we will cater for a different market of clubbers.  As the club develops we will also be hosting bands, performers and venues. Club Metro will be available  for private hire, exhibitions, weddings and shows.”
