NEW BEAUTIFUL SOUTH IN THE BORO!

NEW_BEAUTIFUL_SOUTH_OFFICIAL_PICThe New Beautiful South have been announced as the headline act at the third Randall Rootz Festival in Peterborough this August!

The band, which has sold more than 15 million albums worldwide, are back after a two year sabatical and will open the three day festival in August which is supported by ESP Magazine.

Editor Sharon McAllister said – “We’re big fans of this music festival and have adopted Randall Rootz  as one of our ‘Perfect Ten’ events, a series we’re running to promote our own ten year anniversary this year. Having the band who had a huge hit with a song of the same name is a great coincidence and ties in perfectly!”

Three lead singers have become two as Paul Heaton moved on to persue a solo career, but the band still features Dave Hemingway and Alison Wheeler on vocals. Tickets for the gig on Friday August 14 at The Brewery Tap in Westgate go on sale for £15 each on July 1. The weekend events will then transfer over to the Charters pub beer garden on Town Bridge on Saturday August 15 and Sunday August 16 with free music and entertainment throughout the weekend.

Festival Chairman,  and ESP music columnist, Andy Whittaker said – “This is only our third year and we hope to bring more big names to the Randall Rootz Festival in future years. And as much as it is an achievement for us, it is a testament to New Beautiful South that they have agreed to come and play at such an intimite venue in order to help raise funds for Sue Ryder Care and Thorpe Hall hospice.”
