Film star Warwick Davis, interviewed in the April issue of ESP Magazine will be meeting fans and signing copies of his new book Size Matters Not at the John Clare Theatre, Central Library on Broadway on Friday April 23.
Warwick’s famous for playing the title characters in the Willow series of films, Professor Filius Flitwick in the Harry Potter movies and also for starring in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.
Peterborough City Council’s reading promotion and event coordinator, Gill Benedikz, said - “We’re really excited to welcome Warwick to the library for what promises to be a great start to the weekend.
“Fans will be able to hear him speak about his life so far and his new book. Afterwards they’ll be able to meet him and buy copies of his book and have them signed by the author himself.”
Warwick’s lived in Peterborough for 20 years and has been taken to the city’s heart. He’s delighted to be meeting local fans and says the book will be a real insight into his life as well as his movie work.
“I didn’t actually think I’d done enough stuff, I thought you had to be quite old and retiring to write your memoir,” laughs Warwick about his new book. “But then the more people asked me the more I thought, well I do tell a lot of stories about the things that I’ve done and there are actually quite a lot of them so maybe it would be a good idea.
“There are going to be things that people don’t know and little on-set stories from Willow, Harry Potter, Leprechaun – there are all sorts of interesting movie going stories, but also things about my childhood growing up and what’s it like to be a little person in this world. There’s something for everybody really.”
Tickets for the event, which starts at 6.30pm, cost £3 (£2 concessions) and can be booked by calling the library events team on (01733) 864287.
